You Are Not a Mistake

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. ”—Isaiah 7:14

“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. ”—Micah 5:2

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”—Jeremiah 23:5-6

Today, I want to remind each and every one of you of a profound truth: You are not a mistake. In a world that often makes us feel inadequate or unworthy, it’s crucial to remember that you are here for a reason.

Sometimes, we might feel like we don’t measure up, like our flaws and failures define us. But let me tell you, God doesn’t make mistakes. Every part of you, every experience you’ve had, has been woven together to create the unique person you are today. Your strengths, your weaknesses, your joys, and your sorrows all contribute to the beautiful tapestry of your life.

Jeremiah 29:11 reassures us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This promise is a testament to God’s unwavering love and purpose for you. Even when life feels chaotic or uncertain, trust that God has a plan for you, a plan that is good and filled with hope.

So, when you look in the mirror, see yourself through God’s eyes. See the person who is loved beyond measure, who is capable of great things, and who is here for a divine purpose. Embrace your journey, with all its ups and downs, knowing that you are not a mistake. You are a beloved child of God, and your life has meaning and value.
